I am a researcher at the Institute of Neuroscience of the National Research Council (IN-CNR). My activity is based in Padua, Italy, where I work in the group of Andrea Mari.
The research activity of my group is focused on the development and application of model-based methods for the study of glucose-insulin metabolism.
My current main research interests are:
Study of incretin effects in healthy and type 2 diabetic subjects through the use of mathematical models. The model hypothesizes and simulates the mechanism of action of incretins at the cellular level to reproduce and understand a variety of data in vivo;
Realization of mathematical models of the β-cell that explain in vitro and in vivo findings with consistent mechanisms;
Evaluation of the clinical implications of insulin secretory and sensitivity defects in cystic fibrosis.
You can find more details about my professional activity and a list of publications at my web page.
